On our drive to the B &B, which was a working farm.
Cows, sheep and lots of poop as Donnie says!

But it makes for very fertile ground! Pretty views too.

Below is Lydford Castle with a carved stone in the foreground.
Behind us in the photo is the village church.

Gorgeous wood carving on the screen, the ceiling was also in excellent condition. Even the pews were heavily carved. A big surprise for a village church such as this.

Then there was the...
Jamaica Inn

This place is haunted and originally this is where Donnie wanted to stay on our trip. Until, I found out about the ghosts. It was even on a TV show here called Most Haunted!
I don't think so...

The Smuggler's Bar,
clearly from the name well reputable people came here.

sound of horses' hooves and the metal rims of wheels turning on the rough cobbles of the courtyard or
uneasy footsteps heard pacing the corridors in the dead of night or
the strange man in a tricorne hat and cloak who appears and then walks through solid doors or
heard conversations uttered in a foreign tongue,possibly ancient Cornish
a murder victim tramping along the passage to the bar,
believed to be the dead man's spirit returning to finish his drink.


We had lunch here - that was it. I wasn't going to stick around to see any of these ghost.

Tintagel Castle
is actually on the mainland and on an island.
Below is Donnie and the mainland courtyard and entrance.

I wouldn't be living here but someone once did! Eeks, a bit too steep for me.

Then we traveled onto Avesbury Stone Circle
which encompasses the village
This is also a world heritage site

These stones are huge!
Just how huge you ask?

Look closely at the rock on the right, Iain and I are beside it!

On the outside of the stone circle is this huge ditch.

Little man is too cute and having a good time too!

So we got him an ice cream -
Note that it is on his car seat, cheek, hand...

Down the road is
West Kennet Long Barrow
